New houses

-

Twenty-eight houses could bebuiltinavillageifa new planning application is approved.

The homes would be situated on arable land alongside Stocks Road in Wittersham.

Currently used for agriculture, the six-acre site is bordered by council houses, scattered cottages and a conservation area.

Applicant UK Land Investors has hired architects Taylor Roberts Ltd to devise the plan, which would see a number of trees planted as a green corridor to divide up the houses and screen the views and noise of the road.

While the scheme includes 28 houses, an additional two self-build plots are added in the proposal.

The plans show a new access onto the site from Stocks Road, and that each building will have at least two car parking spaces with ample additional visitor parking.

Within 100 metres are two bus stops, one adjacent to the war memorial and the other to Tyle House Oast.

These would also allow access to a Norton Knatchbull school bus.
