Festival may return this year

-

An annual folk festival is still on the cards as the nationwide vaccination programme continues apace.

The organisers of the Tenterden Folk Festival are carrying on with provisional preparations in case the Covid risk is low enough to hold it in the autumn.

Running from September 30 to October 3, the popular festival attracts musicians from around the county and even further afield.

Starting in 1992, the event has grown and fills Tenterden with music, dance, crafts and traditions.

Unfortunately last year the event was cancelled due to the ongoing pandemic, but organisers are optimistic that it will return this year.

The decision on whether to proceed will be made at a committee meeting being held in April, with organisers saying they are “carefully watching government guidance”.
