WITH KMFM BREAKFAST SHOW’S EMMA SAINT

- Emma

I want to start this week’s column by saying a huge thank you to everyone who came along and took part in the Pink Ribbon walk at Leeds Castle last weekend! The organisers asked me to lead the sponsored stroll in aid of Breast Cancer Care and we had so much fun marching through the castle’s beautiful grounds. Loads of people turned up and there was a great atmosphere. It was fantastic to see everyone in their pink costumes – even a couple of the dogs being walked were wearing pink! It was been a great week on kmfm Breakfast, and one of the highlights was talking to Union J. The boyband appeared on ITV’s X Factor last year, reaching the final four in the talent show, and they chatted to my co-presenter Rob Wills and I about their debut single Carry You, which was released this month. The foursome will also be back in Kent in July to perform at the Sound Island Festival in Quex Park, Birchington, and they said they were really looking forward to it. The boys were really down to earth and chatty, and we had a good laugh with them. They even played 10 in 30 Finally, don’t forget about Father’s Day this Sunday! I am very lucky to have a close relationship with my dad, who has always been a real source of inspiration. From a young age I remember him telling me that you only live once, and life is for living. Have dreams and set goals to achieve them. Work hard, give back to others, be kind but firm, and smile as often as you can. Today as an adult I still aspire to be just like him. For teaching me that life is what you make it and for just being the best dad in the world, I would like to use this column to wish him a happy Father’s Day!
