A BOYS’ OWN ADVENTURE
Four actors play 139 roles in an awardwinning stage adaptation of John Buchan’s 1914 spy thriller The 39 Steps. The fast-paced comedy follows handsome hero Richard Hannay, complete with stiff upper lip and pencil moustache, as he encounters dastardly murderers, doublecrossing secret agents and devastatingly beautiful women. It has been running in the West End for six years, and now the Olivier and Tony Awardwinning production is on tour around the UK. See it at the Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury, from Monday, July 1, to Saturday, July 6. Performances are at 7.30pm, with 2.30pm matinees on Thursday and Saturday. Tickets from £14. Call 01227 787787.
