A HAPPY CAFE

-

Canteen, an independent café serving healthy dishes in Canterbury, is teaming up with Action for Happiness to launch the city’s first Happy Café on Monday, July 2. The Happy Café Network, set up by Action for Happiness, is a network of global eateries committed to creating friendly and welcoming spaces where people can get together and learn how they can improve happiness and wellbeing. Action for Happiness, whose patron is the Dalai Lama, is a charity with a mission to create a happier world. The launch day will include complimentary pots of a specially blended ‘Happy Tea’ through the day. The blend will then be available for the rest of the month, hot or on ice.

Owner Angela Collins said: “We are incredibly excited to be launching Canteen as a Happy Café.

“I personally have suffered with mental health problems and know the importance of talking to others and exploring the different routes to finding happiness in everyday life. Our launch event is just the tip of the iceberg.”

There will be events through the year promoting happiness and wellbeing, starting with an Introduction To Mindfulness talk from Viv Moore on Tuesday, July 3 at 6.30pm.
