Feel­ing thirsty in this weather? Might a re­fined elder­flower sai­son - or pale ale - re­fresh you? Cu­ri­ous Brew­ery, the brew­ery owned by Ten­ter­den wine­maker, Chapel Down, has launched its sec­ond limited edi­tion batch beer, Cu­ri­ouser & Cu­ri­ouser: Chap­ter 2. The del­i­cately re­fined Elder­flower Sai­son is pro­duced with a wine­maker’s twist and is made in col­lab­o­ra­tion with Lon­don-based brew­ery Brew By Numbers. It’s crisp, dry and fruity and avail­able in limited quan­ti­ties. It uses the mod­ern clas­sic English grape va­ri­etal, Bac­chus, which Chapel Down has de­vel­oped a strong rep­u­ta­tion with in its wines and sparkling wines to com­ple­ment the dry and fruity qual­i­ties of Brew By Numbers’ house sai­son yeast.

Chapel Down head wine­maker, Josh Don­aghay-spire said:“with Cu­ri­ouser & Cu­ri­ouser: Chap­ter

2 we have strived to cre­ate a new, ex­cit­ing, and for­ward-think­ing beer that is as fo­cused on qual­ity as it is drink­a­bil­ity, crafted with our wine­mak­ers care and fi­nesse. “Whether it’s de­vel­op­ing new styles, adapt­ing es­tab­lished ones, or shin­ing a light on more enig­matic tech­niques, Brew By Numbers crafts each beer with the same level of care, at­ten­tion and re­spect that we pride our­selves with here at Chapel Down. Brew By Numbers align per­fectly with our own goals of pro­duc­ing great, high­qual­ity beer and of al­ways stay­ing cu­ri­ous.”

Cu­ri­ous Brew­ery man­ag­ing di­rec­tor Gareth Bath added: “We couldn’t be more thrilled with this sec­ond chap­ter to the Cu­ri­ouser & Cu­ri­ouser range. At the heart of what we do is an un­quench­able thirst to learn and dis­cover, so we try to be fearless in break­ing con­ven­tion and chal­leng­ing the sta­tus quo in our search for great taste. Cu­ri­ouser & Cu­ri­ouser epit­o­mises this, and the in­spi­ra­tion we take from craft is cou­pled with the care that wine­mak­ers bring to wine.
