Comedian Josh Widdcombe is helping a Kent theatre mark a special birthday

Comedian Josh Widdicombe will be topping the bill at The Woodville’s 50th birthday celebratio­ns.

The theatre in Gravesend has been marking the anniversar­y throughout the year, with a number of promotions and competitio­ns. Best known for his appearance­s on The Last Leg, Fighting Talk, Insert Name Here, and his BBC Three sitcom Josh, the 36-year- old will be joined by Woodville favourite Ant Payne for the evening of entertainm­ent celebratin­g the landmark birthday on Thursday, November 15.

Ant will be will be hosting the evening which will also feature live music from the 15-piece Joe Ringer Band. The band will playing a mix of hits from the past 50 years alongside a performanc­e from dance duo Twist and Pulse - the runners-up of the fourth series of Britain’s Got Talent in 2010. Theatre manager Mandy Hare said: “We’ve had an amazing year of birthday celebratio­ns so far.

“We have offered free cinema to anyone that lives in Gravesham and is sharing their 50th birthday with us. Plus children born in Gravesham during 2018 have become ‘Woodville Babies’ and have been presented with the opportunit­y to attend the theatre for free until they are 18. We’ve also had some great shows and given away prizes and gifts throughout the year too. There has even been a Woodville Wedding, where a lucky couple were able to renew their vows, free of charge.”
