Salute to The Shires

Calling all country fans! The Shires, the biggest selling UK country act of all time, made history when their debut album became the first British country album to enter the Top 10 chart. Since then, audiences in the UK and beyond have fallen in love with the duo and they will be performing their biggest singles, along with new material from latest release, 10 Year Plan, on their huge country-wide tour. The Shires will be at Leas Cliff Hall, Folkestone on Thursday, May 12. Book online.

From the hit singles of Spandau Ballet to his recent solo records, Tony Hadley is celebrating four decades of tunes.

The 40th anniversary tour kicks off in Kent with three dates across the county this month.

The 1980s heartthrob will first stop off at Leas Cliff Hall in Folkestone before visiting the Assembly Hall Theatre in Tunbridge Wells and will finish off his trio of dates at Dartford’s Orchard Theatre. All three shows will see the singer perform his new material alongside some of his biggest numbers from the past decades.

Finding fame at the forefront of the New Romantics era, the Spandau Ballet singer was the voice of smash hit singles such as True, Gold and Through the Barricades.

It’s been a rocky road for the band since their charttopping glory days, with numerous reunions, breakups and well-documented rifts between Tony and his fellow band members, Gary and Martin Kemp.

In recent years, Tony has distanced himself from his former bandmates after announcing his departure in 2017 and now tours as a solo artist.

As he relives some of the band’s biggest numbers on stage later this year, Tony, who turns 62 next month, will be accompanied by live musicians in the Fabulous TH Band.

Tony Hadley will be performing at Leas Cliff Hall on Thursday, May 5; the Assembly Hall Theatre on Sunday, May 8; and the Orchard Theatre in Dartford on Tuesday, May 17. You can book tickets to all three dates online.

He will also be playing a special one-off show at the London Palladium on Tuesday, October 25 alongside a live orchestra.
