Impressive ladies secure league win

OYSTER IBC Ladies recorded a good 12-shot win at home to Thanet, winning half of the six rinks to collect seven league points. Oyster 119 Thanet 107: Anita Harding, Janet Miles, Madelene McConomy, Sue Close lost 21-12; Peggy Simpkin, Penny Perkins, Eunice Holder, Janet Drewitt won 30-8; Shirley Fey, Monica Ward, Wendy Wright, Yvonne Gambrill won 24-11; Karen Bishop, Barbara New, Joyce Whitlock, Jacqueline Harvey won 26-9; Teresa Cooper, Jean White, Pam Dennett, Chris Benneworth lost 21-9; Doreen Masters, Gloria Clark, Irene Godfrey, Jean Bourner lost 31-18.

Oyster suffered a 43-shot defeat at Mote Park, winning on two of the rinks. Mote Park 137 Oyster 94: Barry Tanson, Paul Drane, Phil Gardiner, Phil Scott-Martin lost 29-16; C.Chapman, Bob Cooper, Peter Boeg, Brian Gentle won 19-18; Norman Bourner, Frank Rose, Colin Strouts, Ian Burton lost 31-12; Gordon Bourn, Frank Kemp, David Shelton, Michael Trotter lost 26-9; John Baker, Mervyn Gulvin, John Chase. Eddie Swan lost 23-12; Keith Dennett, Brian Maxted, David Charlton, Bernard Woodhams won 26-10.

Oyster lost only one of the six rinks played and collected nine points when Sevenoaks visited in the league.
