Chislet excel on their big day
Chislet Colliery
There was a double celebration when Chislet Colliery Bowls Club hosted the Jim Harlow’s Hospice Triples Tournament.
The club is 75 years old and this year is the tournament’s 10th anniversary.
Chislet’s Stan Knott skipped the winning team, while third place went to a second triple from Chislet, skipped by Jack Cramp.
The tournament featured 24 mixed triples playing three 10-end games. The action ran from 9.30am to 4.10pm and a Whitstable team finished runners-up.
Presentations were made by the Hospice’s chief executive, Steve Auty, and £1,214.60 was raised on the day.
Chislet welcomed Dane Park for the return leg of the Catherine Wheeler league fixture and the visitors claimed a narrow victory.
