Strike Force are on the up

-

After the success of last season, Faversham Strike Force now have a Saturday side competing in the Kent County League, Division 2 East for the first time.

With the fixtures due to be announced soon they are looking forward to a positive season with the addition of new coaches John Goodwin and Toby Andrews.

Goodwin will become manager with Andrews his assistant.

Gary Axford, Strike Force club chairman, is also delighted to welcome back Kevin Doyle, who was a coach at the club six years ago and will help out with the first team.

Strike Force have a clear development plan, and having a County League side has completed their short-term objective.

The club has their own ground, playing at the King George V Playing Fields in Faversham after agreeing a 25-year lease with Swale Borough Council.

They are also in advanced stages of converting disused tennis courts into a 3G all-weather playing surface for their own use and have raised £68,000 so far with the help of a £50,000 grant from Sport England towards the £90,000 needed. In the coming season Strike Force will have 13 youth sides and three men’s sides competing in five different leagues across Kent.

Mark Robinson, of the Swan & Harlequin has also agreed to sponsor all three senior sides.
