Anglers have been using the fine weather conditions to their advantage with plenty of good catches to report.

The River Stour has been fishing well with two venues proving the most fruitful.

The White Hart Club fished the Canterbury and District Angling Association’s waters at Cut End to record many 10lb bags of roach and skimmer bream falling to waggler and feeder.

The best weighed in at 22lb and second place was a superb 17lb all-roach haul that included fish to over 1lb.

The Stour at Fordwich has produced some fine chub and bream catches.

Ray Smith landed six chub to 5lb using ledgered bread, while Barry Mills landed 12 bream to 7lb with feeder-fished sweetcorn and pellet.

Several big carp have been caught in Fordwich Lake next to the river at Fordwich.

Stuart Gray netted a 22lb common from the north bank while Dan Craddock caught a 15lb mirror from the deeps.

The same area gave Peter Bury three more including an excellent common brace of 22lb and 25lb.

At Birch Lake in Littlebourne, Gareth Jones and Keith Bell enjoyed a fine outing with Gareth reeling in 45 tench and five carp during a 36-hour stint armed with just a can of sweetcorn, while Keith caught numerous carp including a fine mirror of 26lb 5oz with sweetcorn and flavoured pellet baits.

Stonar Lake in Sandwich continues to provide superb sport with all species being readily caught including big carp to 24lb.

Junior CDAA member Dylan Crosbie landed 14 bream to 5lb and an excellent personal-best mirror carp of 23lb.

Carl Crosbie connected with six bream to 5lb, Eddy Cross 14 more to 4lb 8oz and during another session, he banked bream to 8lb 12oz and a 12lb 4oz common carp.
