Girls’ school head proud of pupils’ exam success
Simon Langton Girls’ Grammar School
The school produced another set of outstanding GCSE results.
Three pupils achieved straight A* grades and another 23 girls achieved all A* or A grades. Thirty-five girls achieved at least 8A* or A grades while 100% of the pupils finished with at least five A* to C passes.
Head teacher Jane Robinson said: “We are very proud of all the girls for their excellent results.
“This is testament not only to their hard work over the past two years but also to the superb teaching quality which they ben- efit from here at SLGGS. The percentage of pupils achieving top grades in the sciences has increased by 10% this year, bucking the national trend significantly.
“We look forward to welcoming a record number of pupils to our sixth form in September. Many congratulations to all of the staff and students for these excellent results.”
Ella Sbaraini achieved 11 straight A*s and both Charlotte Muehlschlegel and Ruth Nicholls-Pike got 10 straight A* passes each.
Ruth, 16, said: “I really don’t know how I got this, but I did

work hard. I really like it here and I’m going to stay on to do A-levels.”
Charlotte, also 16, added: “I worked really hard, but it’s stuff I really enjoyed learning about. But I was very surprised to learn what I got and I’m quite shocked.”
For Josie Fuller, the results were an even bigger surprise: “I didn’t do that much revision, but I got 100% in three of my science modules. I’m going to stay on and do science and geography A-levels.”
