Grammar school gets impressive grade haul
Barton Court Grammar School
The school peaked last year when its GCSE results rocketed to their best ever – but this year’s grades were just as impressive.
More than half the students achieved A* and A grades, with 99.2% gaining five or more A* to Cs including English and maths.
Head teacher Kirstin Cardus said: “Our students have worked very hard to achieve outstanding results and we are extremely proud of them and would like to congratulate them all.
“Fifty-nine students also studied AS levels alongside their GCSEs with some students studying as many as four. This is a tremendous achievement and demonstrates the commitment of students to their studies at Barton Court.
“This year group have been a super cohort of students.
“We have always had high hopes for them and they have fulfilled all our expectations.
“Our excellent GCSE results, along with our best ever IB Diploma Results and best ever A-level results this year, make our school a very attractive choice for local students.”
As many as 45 youngsters at the school achieved eight or more A* and A grades, 13 of which were straight A and A* students.
Ms Cardus added: “The school would like to thank all staff for their hard work and all parents and governors for their continued support without which such excellent results and student achievement would not be possible.”
