Andrew, of Eider Close, Herne Bay, says keeping things local is key.
“We make an effort where we can to source locally and stock locallygrown fruit and veg,” he says.
“We always have done. It’s what people are looking for.
“They are becoming more concerned about where their food comes from, where it’s sourced, what the provenance of the food is.
“Last year we were narrowly beaten, so it was great to go back and win.”

The farm, which has more than 80 acres of orchards in Howfield Lane, Chartham, saw its Cameo apple named best in the county.
Believed to be a cross between Red Delicious and Golden Delicious, it was introduced to Newmafruit in 1997 and is described as firm and crisp with an aromatic flavour.
The firm’s managing director, Tony Frankham, said: “We are delighted to be presented with the Taste of Kent award for our Cameo apples.
“We are especially proud that this same variety has also won the prestigious National Fruit Show best in show award for the last two years, so it is a testament to the team at Newmafruit for their hard work and effort in not only producing the bestlooking apples but also those with the best flavour.”
