Six race their way to speeding tickets

Six Faversham SC swimmers were caught speeding at the Folkestone development gala on Saturday night.
They all exceeded the entry times set by the Amateur Swimming Association, producing some fine personal best performances.
Speeding tickets were awarded to Amy Coupe in the under-12 girls’ 50m fly (PB 37.91), Bella Holt in the under-10 girls’ 50m backstroke (PB 44.94), Eva Mcintyre in the under-12 girls’ 50m backstroke (PB 38.56), Kia Drake in the under-12 girls’ 50m breaststroke (PB 44.28), Scott Pearce in the under-10 boys’ 50m backstroke (PB 45.61) and Sophie Molton in the under-12 girls’ 50m freestyle (PB 34.80).
Max Fordyce took the club record for the 11-year-old boys’ 50m fly in 38.28 which also secured him a first place.
Other swimmers finishing in first were Jamie Spice in the under-12 boys’ 50m backstroke (PB 42.87), Kia Drake in the under-18 girls’ 50m fly and Molly Stemp in the under-15 girls’ 50m backstroke and under-18 50m breaststroke.
Second-place finishes were achieved by Eliza Mills in the under-10 girls’ 50m freestyle (PB 43.38), Emily Holt in the under-18 girls’ 100m IM, Ethan Sharman in the under-10 boys’ 50m breaststroke (PB 56.81), Molly Fletcher-hebden in the under-12 girls’ 100m IM (PB 1.29.22), Nathan Williams in the under-18 boys’ 50m freestyle and Nellie Murray in the under-11 girls’ 50m backstroke (PB 45.90).
Third-places went to Bella Holt in the under-10 girls’ 100m IM, Chloe Bullard in the under-15 girls’ 50m fly (PB 38.66), Harrison Scott in the under-12 boys’ 50m freestyle (PB 37.58), Nina Connell in the under-9 girls’ 50m breaststroke (PB 55.58) and Oscar Williams in the under-9 boys’ 50m backstroke (PB 49.72).
PBS were also achieved by Cameron Bullard, Emily Ing, Joshua Wilkins, Max Bushell, Niah Stemp and Olivia Springett.
Newcomer Scott Pearce won the Tesco gala star and Amy Coupe was the winner of the Tesco gala shield.
The other clubs competing at the gala were Folkestone, Dover, Ashford, Hythe and Black Lion.
