Canterbury City girls under14s suffered their first defeat on Sunday as they were beaten 4-2 by title-chasing Petts Wood. Wood got an early goal but City went on to dominate the first half with a string of chances that tested the Petts Wood defence. A fine free-kick from Tiegan Stevens found the back of the net to level the scores before half-time. Despite a second half penalty, well-finished at the second attempt by Kloee Worboyes, City were unable to contain the Petts Wood striker who scored a second-half hat-trick. City: Menniss, Howard, Day, Walker, Tritton, Pollard, Cory, Jordan, Stevens, Worboyes, Vergo, Wilson, Rowland.

Herne Bay Harriers under8s Colts played Faversham Strikeforce in the Faversham District League. A good game saw Max Spicer netting twice and being named Harriers’ player-of-the-match. The under-9s played Snowdown & Aylesham in the EKYFL. A high-scoring game saw two goals each from Joshua Madden and Bodie Mason and others from Dylan Richards, Luca Mccarthy and Noah Ireton. Richards continued his good form and won Harriers’ manof-the-match accolade. Harriers: Brinley Ledger, Archie Vincent, Jack Hillier, Bodie Mason, Dylan Richards, Noah Ireton, Luca Mccarthy, Joshua Madden.

Canterbury Eagles under12s lost out on a share of the points, going down 4-2 away to leaders Tankerton in EKYFL Division 2 on Sunday. An evenly contested match throughout saw the home side take the lead midway through the first half but Eagles fought back and equalised when a deft header from Seb Connelly put Lewis Saunders clear to place his shot past the goalkeeper. They then took the lead after a corner from Besjan Nimanaj was turned in at the near post by Jacob Thorne. The second half was just as entertaining with both sides creating chances but it was not until late in the match that two unanswered goals from Tankerton sealed the win. Eagles man-of-the-match went to keeper Alex Gawley. Eagles: Gawley, Moorcroft, Rai, Iyaloo, Nimanaj, Brady-lowe, Licence, Connelly, Saunders, Thorne, Ford.
