Pupils take arty ideas to sheltered housing

-

Pupils from Simon Langton Girls’ Grammar School have been working closely with Age UK to brighten the lives of the elderly. The youngsters from Year 11 and 12 have been introducing arts activities to older people from the charity and sheltered housing. The Talking Trees project has received Big Lottery Funding. Assistant head teacher Hannah Blaskett-foord said: “Enrichment is a huge priority at our school as we believe in developing the whole person. “Talking Trees is a fantastic opportunity for our students to work with local artists on activities for the benefit of the community. “They will also engage in sensitisation and awareness work, giving them insights into conditions such as dementia, mental health and well-being.”
