When graffiti is not worth the Earth

-

Weird graffiti of the week is this little number in the – where else? – St George’s underpass.

“I’m The Moon,” is, for those in the know, a reference to the absurd comedy The Mighty Boosh, starring Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt.

I say this is a piece of graffiti, but if the over-hyped vandal Banksy had done it, the council would put a piece of glass over it, call it art and draw up a piece of regulation which orders everyone to coo in pathetic awe.

Strolling past the offices of estate agent Miles and Barr at the foot of the New Dover Road the other day, I noticed that it has a fridge full of bottles of drinks.

There was Evian, Coke and Stella Artois.

Hang on a bleedin’ minute. Beer? Is there a huge demand for beer in the estate agent’s these days?

Or are estate agents getting their punters sloshed so they can flog shacks on the Sturry Road for millions?

More importantly, will it lead to conversations like this?

“Owight Dale. Where ya off to?”

“Miles and Barr for a few sherberts, innit. Fancy a brewski?” “Caw, yeah.” This means there’s also a chance that the inebriated male will hear this at home the next day: “You did what?

“You got drunk at Miles and Barr and bought a threebed semi-detached in bloody Thanington?”

Westminster insider Guido Fawkes has learned that Saint Bob of Geldof isn’t quite the selfless superhero.

The Faversham-based Boomtown Rats singer’s star dipped considerably this summer when he took to The Thames to scream vile abuse at fishermen campaigning to quit the EU.

So like others on the losing team (G. Osborne, for example) he has joined the public speaking circuit.

Guido discovered that his agent’s website raves about Geldof’s charity work, but helpfully adds: “Please note: we are unable to assist with any charitable requests.”

Just give Bob your #$?@&*% money.
