BAT & TRAP: LITTLEBOUR­NE REC TRIUMPH IN CHARLES SKAM PLATE FINAL BY BEATING 2013 WINNERS

The Charles Skam Plate final saw Premiershi­p side Littlebour­ne Rec see off 2013 winners Castle B from Division 1.

Lee Rigden scored 24 runs and team-mate Lewis Gore hit seven traps, while Colin Firth hit the trap six times in reply for the Rec.

Premiershi­p leaders Artichoke A won 2-0 at the Frog & Orange with Spencer Snow hitting 20 runs and Tom Hopkins taking four traps to help them finish the campaign on 30 points.

The Frog duo of Dave Garrett and Tony Austin both hit three traps in reply with the latter also scoring 21 runs.

Golden Lion A also won 2-0, against the Catholic Club, thanks to Bruce Aitken’s 29 runs in the second leg and Rick Eames taking four traps.

Lion sit three points behind the Choke with a game in hand.

Littlebour­ne Rec relegated GKB with a 2-1 victory – Scott Elvidge hitting 30 runs and James Edwards taking four traps. GKB’S Ben Smith hit 44 runs and team-mate Kenny Small took six traps.

Dove Inn B defeated Gentil Knyght C 2-1 to secure their safety.

Dover Castle were crowned Division 1 champions and Golden Lion B were named runners-up.

The Castle won 2-0 at Market Inn A, while Golden Lion B lost 2-0 at home to the Compasses and Market Inn B came away from Faversham Town 2-1 victors.

In an all-castle clash between A and B sides, Ian Taylor hit 44 runs and team-mate Paul Coe took five traps for the A side.

The B side, however, secured a 2-1 victory after Tim Field’s 28 runs and five traps and Jack Higgins’ 36 runs and three traps.

Two Brothers were promoted to Division 1 after a 2-0 win over Red Lion C. Mick and Kieran O’connor hit 38 of the Brothers’ 85 in the first leg and Sarah JaneSteven­son got a vital one not out in the second to take the match.

Kestrels were crowned champions of Division 3 after a 2-0 win at the Alma A.

Alma’s Brian Lloyd put up a valiant battle with 13 of his side’s 42 runs in the first leg.

Three Burden family members shone for the Kestrels, Andy hit 19 in the first, Anthony 23 in the second and Colin took four traps.

Artichoke B lie in second place after defeating Two Brewers B 2-1. Paul Ashenden hit 35, Bill Treacey 26 and Paul Delo 37 runs and took five traps. Dove Inn A won 2-1 at the Two Brewers A.
