Top two continuing to set the pace

Iron Room A maintained top spot in the Canterbury & District League Premier Division with a 7-2 win over visitors, Heron B thanks to three wins each for the unbeaten Phil Saxby and Russell Bates.

Hoath A, who have a game in hand, reduced the gap at the top to seven points with a 9-0 whitewash of lowly Bay B, courtesy of clean Ian Mileham, Barry Chapman and John Ferguson trebles.

Mid-table Hoath B toppled third-placed Herne Bay A 6-3 thanks to trebles from Simon Hillier and David Jeavons.

Faversham A edged a 5- 4 win at Chestfield Warriors 1 thanks to an unbeaten treble from Harry Law.

After losing their previous two Division 1 games, there was a welcome 5-4 home win for Bay C over Warriors 4 to go fourth.

Bob Edwards was the match winner with three wins but having lost just one game all season, his record was seriously challenged by Kell Davies who took him to five legs.

There was a much-needed 7-2 win for Bay D over visiting Iron Room C with Keith Blackmore and Chris Howard managing three wins each.

Ricky Kay (3) ensured Warriors 2 stayed within four points of the leaders with an 8-1 victory over bottom team Choughs B. Paul Whittaker also won three.

Choughs A lost 8-1 at home to leaders Warriors 3 who had three clean wins each by Paul Davies and Dirk Froebrich.

In Division 2, mid-table Warriors 7 edged third-placed Bay F 5-4 win with Aaron Hollingswo­rth registerin­g three wins while Nick Wibberley was on form for Faversham C with three wins in their 6-3 win at Bay G.

Undefeated Giulio Guariglia guided second-placed Bay E to a 6-3 home win over Warriors 5 with a treble.

Blean C had to concede three points to guests Warriors 9 but eased to a 6-3 home win in Division 3 with Laurie Newman and Peter Cole winning all their games.

Second-placed Warriors 10 were tested by third-bottom hosts Bay I, for whom James Ball won three, but edged a 5-4 win.

Warriors 8 beat lowly Bay K with a 9-0 home win thanks to clean trebles from Dave and Caroline Hanson and three wins by Bill Hackney.

With an 8-1 away win over Bay J, leaders Warriors 12 continued on their road to Division 2 and now have a 20-point lead plus a game in hand over their nearest rivals.

Division 4 leaders Bay L won 5-0 at Warriors 18 with Linda Sopp and Val Ranken unbeatable, while Warriors 15 pipped Warriors 13 3-2 in the derby, with Ricky Kay Jnr winning both his games.
