Youth football

-

Nine of the goals came in the second half as Canterbury Eagles under-14s returned to form with a 10-0 home win over Tankerton.

Eagles missed countless chances in the first half including a penalty from Monty Saunders but eventually Jack Goodall broke the deadlock following an assist from Dylan Saunders.

Within two minutes of the second half, Alfie Graña had sent Josh Hall through to score and that goal opened the floodgates.

Goodall finished with five goals and one assist to earn the parents’ player-of-the-match award, while Hall claimed a hat-trick and provided two assists. Monty Saunders scored the remaining two goals.

Graña had a hand in two of the goals with Dylan Saunders, who set up three of the goals, named as manager’s man-ofthe-match. Squad: P. Hulks, H. Peak, M. Gourlay, L. Crowley, T. Hayes, D. Saunders, J. Hall (C), M. Saunders, J.goodall, A.graña, F. Nunn.

Canterbury Eagles under-13s extended their unbeaten run in the East Kent Youth League to 14 games with a 1-1 draw away to Park Farm Rangers.

Eagles took the lead when top scorer Lewis Saunders scored from Ryan Rai’s floated pass but despite dominating the rest of the first half, they could not add a second goal.

Park Farm equalised when a free-kick from distance somehow eluded everyone to find its way into the net.

The second half again saw Eagles in control but despite creating several chances they were unable to find another goal and had to settle for a share of the spoils

Eagles’man- of- the- match went to Oliver Brady-lowe for his hard-working performance in the centre of midfield. Team: Gawley, Millsted, Moorcoft, Hough, Rai, Iyaloo, Connelly, Valrade, Saunders, Rencber, Ford, Steen, Brady-lowe, Licence, Nimanaj.
