Fun day in memory of baby
An action-packed fundraising day is being held by the family of a baby who died to thank those who cared for her.
Florence Brockman spent 12 weeks in the neonatal intensive care unit in the Evelina Children’s Hospital in London before being transferred to Demelza Hospice, near Sittingbourne, where she spent her final hours.
Her parents Bianca and Jack, from Canterbury, were able to spend precious moments with Florence, who was born with congenital defects and developed a critically narrow airway, in Demelza’s Hop Garden bereavement suite.
To say thank you, the family want to raise money for Evelina, Demelza and the Ronald Mcdonald charity.
A fun-filled day is planned for Sunday, June 18, starting at 10am at Chartham memorial field.
It will include a family football match, pony rides, bouncy castle, games, stalls and a raffle with more than 70 prizes.
There will be a photo booth, charity head shave, beauty and hair treatments and even the chance for people to try driving test taster sessions.
Live music will be performed by a Disney singer and a DJ will play all day.
The family is also raising money through a fundraising page and Mr Brockman is running a half marathon in October.
