In the Herne Bay Monday Night League, Chislet Colliery Club have been crowned Division 1 champions. They clinched the title with a 6-5 win away to Angling Club B, who needed a win to keep their own promotion hopes alive. Anglers trailed 4-1 going into the singles and fought back to level at 4-4 thanks to wins from Ashley Sands, Jeff Buxton and Reece Kiley. Terry Longland edged Chislet back in front but Anglers skipper Craig Reeves brought it back to 5-5 and it fell to Dave Hards to win the league for Chislet. Second-placed East Station Snooker Club took advantage of Anglers’ defeat by winning 6-5 away to Heron. Mo Waithalia hit a maximum 180 for the Snooker Club. Another of their promotion rivals, Rising Sun, suffered a 7-4 defeat at home to Druids Head, who have climbed into third. Rising Sun led 3-2 ahead of the singles but wins for Dave Anderson, Carl Wright, Adam Farmer, Derek Male and Stuart Angel turned the match around for Druids. Hampton Inn are on the brink of the Premier Division title following their 8-3 win at home to Angling Club A. They’re six points clear of Divers Arms and Smugglers Inn with just two matches left and their points difference means neither side are likely to catch them even if results go their way. Hampton Inn raced into a 5-0 lead and never looked back, with Clive Johnson hitting two maximums for the champions elect.
