St Lawrence & Highland Court suffered their first defeat in Division 2 on Saturday.

They won the toss at home to Broadstairs, put the visitors in and managed to dismiss them for 151.

James Widerstrom (3-20) and Ben Trott (3-28) led the way while there were two wickets each for Dylan Emmett and Graeme Tryon.

However, the St Lawrence batting never got going and they were in all sorts of trouble at 63-6 before Hamish Macleod and William Hilton shared a parternship worth 43.

Skipper Hilton remained unbeaten on 33 but he ran out of partners as the home side were all out for 127 in the 40th over.

In Division 1, Justin Macvicar’s 88 was in vain as Canterbury lost at Bickley Park by six wickets.

Macvicar’s innings included three sixes and five fours but Canterbury were bowled out for 210 and Bickley chased that down in 47.4 overs.

It’s now four straight defeats for Whitstable after they were put to the sword by Bromley at The Belmont.

Bromley racked up 355-9 in their 50 overs and the home side could only manage 195-8 in reply.

Richard Legg scored a patient 57 for Whitstable 2nds at Beckenham but his side, needing 277 for victory, were bowled out for 133. St Lawrence 2nds were convincing winners at Catford and Cyphers in Division 3, scoring 232-8 and bowling their hosts out for 157.

James Fowle (58) and Toby Vaughan (4-28) provided the St Lawrence highlights.

Alex Brunetti-leach picked up 3- 3 for Chestfield 2nds in their eight- wicket win at Cowdrey in Division 4.
