Exhibition by top names in art continues

-

An exhibition taking place at the Beaney gallery in Canterbury, that brings together work by some of the biggest names in art will continue until next week.

Drawn from Life: People on Paper includes works by David Hockney, Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth, Lucien Freud, Antony Gormley and LS Lowry.

The works come from the Arts Council Collection and are on a national tour to mark the organisation’s 70th anniversary.

Collection director Jill Constantine said: “The Collection has been built by the many distinguished artists, curators and writers who have advised on the purchase of works and it is arguably in this very open and democratic approach to acquisition that the Collection’s greatest strength lies.

“Drawn from Life captures the breadth and vitality of the figurative drawing that is produced by artists in this country.”

The exhibition continues until Sunday, June 25 in the Special Exhibitions Room at The Beaney House of Art and Knowledge, 18 High Street, Canterbury.

Admission is free.
