Driver flees after car hits wall

Police are hunting a driver who abandoned their car after it crashed into a wall.

Pictures emerged online showing the damage caused by the accident, which happened at about 5.15pm at Bridge Hill, just off Bridge High Street.

Police were sent to the scene on Tuesday, but the driver had fled before they arrived.

Officers coned-off a section of the road while they carried out inquiries.

A spokesman added: “This was not a firearms incident, however, armed officers on routine patrol did attend as they were already in the area.”
