Chloey family make funeral appeal

-

A one-off dance party was held at one of the city’s nightspots on Saturday to raise money for the funeral of Chloey Marshall.

The teenager died last month aged 17 after a brave six-year battle with leukaemia.

Her family are planning a large send-off next Tuesday and, to help raise funds towards it, staff at The Loft joined forces with the team behind the Night Garden summer party sessions to put on a special Dance for Chloey event.

Party-goers packed out the Loft terrace for the event, with organisers thanking everyone for getting involved and those who gave up their time for free to arrange the night. Those who were unable to make it are invited to donate to the Dance for Chloey fundraising page, with money going towards the funeral.

Chloey’s funeral is being held on Tuesday, September 19, at St Dunstan’s Church, with a procession starting in Redwood Close at 12.50pm. There will then be a procession to Canterbury cemetery.
