Kusel claims title double
Barham BC
Pat Kusel stole the show as Barham BC crowned its club champions at the weekend. On Saturday Kusel overcame Mo Ballard 21-8 to be crowned ladies singles champion while Colin Smith took the men’s title after overcoming Gerry Ferrett 21-13. Kusel also joined forces with Rita Smith to win the ladies pairs, winning 24-13 against Eira Osborne and Kim Curtis. Ferrett did bounce back from his singles loss to take the pairs crown, joining Mike Hurlock to win 20-8 against Richard Grayson and Ralph Watts. On Sunday Kusel added the ladies yardstick title after overcoming Rita Cleaver 28-18. In a dramatic men’s yardstick final, Damian Conroy pipped runner-up Phil Cross 31-30. Cleaver did recover to win the ladies invitation alongside Ralph Watts, winning 19-14 against Mo Ballard and Mick Bullman.
