Hallett treble in Sun haul

Sam Hallett led the way with a hat-trick as defending champions Rising Sun eased to a 9-0 win over Crusaders in the Herne Bay and Whitstable Sunday League, Premier Division. James Turner scored twice, with Stacey Davis, Andy Maxted, Tom Moncur and Del Philpott completing the tally for Sun, who had opened the season with a 2-1 win over Monument. Davis and Tom Parker – with a penalty – scored in that game with James Brown replying for Momument. Jadon Blues ran out 4-1 victors over Waterfront with goals from Callum Wellings, Rob Lawrence (2) and Rob Wellings. Monument won by the same margin against Chartham while Tankerton Royals beat Littlebour­ne 4-2 led by Joe Walker’s double. Lewis Heard and Joe Martin scored the other goals. Two goals each from Tom Lilley and Jonny Pilcher earned St Stephen’s a 4-1 win over Northgate Rangers (Gwendal Langlois) in Division 1 and Charlie Moss and Ant Ray were on target for Hampton in their 2-0 success over A1 Tyres 0. Stefan Wall and Ky Hall scored two each as The Elephant beat Blean Sunday 4-1 while Oare FC 1 and Monument Reserves shared a 1-1 draw, Liam Burton netting for Oare who had also drawn 1-1 on the opening day, against Woodman’s Hall. Steven Sparks scored their goal, with Lewis Pout replying for Woodman’s. Chislet eased past Northgate Rangers 5-1 with goals from Callum Kennelly, Jack Winder, Kushtrim Nuredini, Mike Smith and Jacob Hedges and a hat-trick from Liam Wellings helped A1 Tyres beat Monument Res 7-3. Ashley Tuite struck twice with one each for Lee Phillips and Kyle Ayles. Jonny Woollard’s treble proved decisive as Faversham United edged Whitstable Old Boys 4-3 in Division 2. Courtney Coveney was the other scorer. Jack Allen and Tom Newing scored Tankerton’s goals as they beat Herne Bay Athletic 2-0. They had launched their campaign by beating Bay United 2-1, Allen and Joe Magness the players on target. Joe Hancock replied for Bay. Heron and Monument A drew 3-3, Gregg Lee (2) and Charlie Fournier the scorers for Heron.
