In the Charles Skam Cup final – first played in 1929 – Dover Castle beat Faversham Town FC 2-0 at the Golden Lion. Phil Nowell hit 18 runs to help win the first leg, while Mark Nowell helped win the second leg for Dover with his 33-run haul. This is the second time Dover Castle have won the competitio­n, the first back in 2012. Gentil Knyght B won the Charles Skam Plate final for the third time in four years after beating 2016 winners Littlebour­ne Rec 2-0. Artichoke A won the Henry Court Cup final for the second time after beating Gentil Knyght C 2-0 in a high scoring match. Colin Firth hit 28 runs in the first leg, while team-mate Alex Hill hit a hat trick of traps in the second to help Littlebour­ne Rec to a 2-0 Premiershi­p victory over Catholic Club. In Division 1, the Compasses lost 2-1 to the Black Pig while Castle B beat Shipwright Arms 2-0. Alma A won 2-0 at home to the Red Lion B. In Division 3, the Freewheel and Evenhill Crusaders B both had victories against the Golden Lion C and Huntsman and Horn respectful­ly. Artichoke B won 2-1 at home to the White Horse and Dove Inn A beat Two Brewers A 2-1. Darryl Joyce trapped a treble in Choke Bs 2-0 success at home to the Freewheel. In the mixed fours, the Golden Lion C1 consisting of Michael Oconnor, Sarah Stevenson, Amanda Parsons and Joe Mcdonald beat Golden Lion A 2-0 in the final. A fun day for all ages will be held at The Dove Inn, Dargate, on Sunday, from 2pm. Get to play one of the oldest Kentish games, as well as enjoying other fun activities. Proceeds from the day will be donated to The Pilgrims Hospice.
