Collision trial

-

A 77-year-old Bridge pensioner will go on trial next year accused of killing someone by driving carelessly.

A two-car accident happened on the A259 at Ash in December. Roy Bagley, 92, believed to have lived in Wingham, was injured in the incident near Chequer Lane but died in Ashford Hospital in March this year.

Now Patricia Hume, of Conyngham Lane in Bridge, has appeared at Canterbury Crown Court. She pleaded not guilty to the charge. The trial, which is expected to start on April 16, is likely to take five days. Hume was granted bail until the next hearing.
