Monkeying about with Darwin

-

Calling all monkeys! International smash hit, The Origin of Species... is a show for young and old alike. It tells the story of how Charles Darwin came to discover the secrets of evolution and why it took him more than 20 years to publish his idea. It’s a show packed with big theories, terrible puns, physical comedy and six cracking original songs about everything from blasted boring barnacles to the perils of marrying your cousin. Summer was a particularly difficult time for medieval villagers if they were running out of grain and they would often have to use old rye to make bread. This sounds safe enough, but unfortunately, stored rye was frequently infected with ergot, a fungus with Lsd-like qualities that caused hallucinations, gangrene and – in extreme cases – death. Thank goodness for Hovis, eh?
