Charities gain from fundraisers’ pain

-

Charity champions jumped, climbed and splashed their way to success at the KM Assault Course Challenge on Sunday, raising £6,000.

Local fundraising heroes included the Kitty Cat Climbers and Wild at Heart teams who supported the Canterbury district branch of the RSPCA.

Adventurers braved 22 pieces of equipment – and the elements – in their quest to earn sponsor money and were rewarded with a souvenir medal at the finish line.

Hosts MY/PT upped the ante this year with a tougher course including rope swing, water jump, tunnels, trenches, and plenty of water and mud to challenge the teams.

Organised by the KM Group’s charity department and staged at Betteshanger Country Park, near Deal, the event attracted 20 teams of six and money for 14 good causes including Kent Air Ambulance, Porchlight and Victim Support.

Event organiser, Dominic Comins of the KM Charity Team, said: “I take my hat off to our intrepid teams who took on the exciting new course with bucket loads of enthusiasm to support fantastic causes.

“It was a brilliant and incredibly mucky day out for all involved and I’m already looking forward to next year.”

Other events now open for booking including KM Abseil on Sunday, November 12, KM Golf Challenge on Thursday, November 23, plus familyfriendly fundraising events for 2018. Visit kmcharityteam.co.uk
