Plenty to cheer at home show

Aylesham ABC hosted their first show of the season on Saturdayni­ght at a packed Dover town hall. The event had been planned for several months and resulted in 14 actionpack­ed bouts. More than 100 guests enjoyed a silver service dinner and the event attracted clubs from all over Kent – St Mary’s (Chatham), Tenterden, Rumbles (Sittingbou­rne) and Ashford – while other clubs travelled from London and Southampto­n, Two Aylesham boxers enjoyed victories. Jack Roberts, 17, celebrated his first victory for the club and 13-year-old Billy Champion. It was his 10th bout for the home club. Jamie Keyes, 10, had a skills bout while Khris Baker just missed out in the closing seconds of the last round, The club would like to thank sponsors MAS Garage, The Funky Monkey, Colin Hoyle Printers and Equip Scaffoldin­g.
