Head of rugby Andy Pratt says in-form Canterbury must keep their feet on the ground ahead of some testing times to come in National 2 South. Saturday’s 22-7 win at newly-promoted Wimbledon was a fifth straight victory for Pratt’s men as they kept pace with the early leaders. He said: “Wimbledon are definitely going to get their first win and we didn’t want to be the ones to give it to them. “The first half was not the greatest to watch and the second half was not much better but we got the four points I would have taken before the game.” He added: “We have got a bit of momentum behind us but with the greatest respect to the sides we have played, they are not the most experienced at this level. ”The next few weeks will be a different proposition – a true test of where we are.” While a trip to early leaders Taunton follows the following weekend, promotion-chasing Redruth are the visitors to the Marine Travel Ground on Saturday (3pm), with Canterbury seeking to avenge a home defeat to the Cornish side last season. Pratt said: “Last season we finally managed to win down there but then they came here and reminded us just how good a club they are.” Sam Rogers and Max Cantwell will have have treatment on knocks but JJ Murray could be back. Pratt said: “It’s a big occasion with the Oktoberfest going on, too - it should be a good day.”
