School-run parents must use their legs

-

I disagree with D Boorman’s comments [Gazette letters, Oct 19] that parents are forced to park illegally.

No one is forced to. It is the inconsiderate thoughtless drivers who think their lives are more important than yours or mine, and more so, than children’s lives.

Who shall we blame if a child was to be seriously hurt and no action is taken beforehand?

It is not parking spaces that are needed, but parents to use their legs more, with our ever-increasing pollution and the city’s congestion problems.

What I would like to see is public space protection orders placed outside our schools.
