Sunday’s concert with two guest musicians

A violin and piano duo will be the guest performers at the next concert arranged by Canterbury Music Club.

Alexandra Lomeiko (violin) was born in 1991 into a family of musicians.

Based in London, she has establishe­d herself as one of the most talented and versatile musicians of her age, winning prizes in various competitio­ns, founding and directing the ensemble Silk Street Sinfonia and performing extensivel­y as a soloist, chamber and orchestral musician in the UK and abroad. She plays a violin made by Carlo Tononi, Cremona in 1687, on loan from the Royal College of Music, London.

Since 2000, the Latvian pianist Antonina Suhanova has been praised a national and internatio­nal piano competitio­ns in France, Spain, Italy, Slovakia, Russia and Estonia.

She moved to London in 2012 where she started studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. The programme features Bach’s Sonata for Violin and Piano No 4 in C minor, Ysaÿe’s Sonata for Solo Violin in G minor, Beethoven’s Sonata for Violin and Piano in E-flat major and Stravinsky’s Divertimen­to from The Fairy’s Kiss.

The concert takes place at 3pm on Sunday at St Gregory’s Centre for Music in North Holmes Road, Canterbury. Tickets are £15 on the door or in advance from www. canterbury­musicclub.com.
