Duo’s Dutch medal joy

Two Sit­ting­bourne and Faver­sham Taek­wondo Club stu­dents came away with medals when they com­peted at the Dutch Open Cham­pi­onships 2018.

Kado Bate­man won a sil­ver and Grace Fos­ter a bronze in spar­ring at the event in Hel­mond.

The club had three stu­dents com­pete in the Pat­terns divi­sion but all lost in the first round.

There were also 10 in­volved in the spar­ring com­pe­ti­tion with the chil­dren com­pet­ing in the morn­ing and adults in the af­ter­noon.

Char­lie Good­man and Mar­cus Du­plock both reached the sec­ond rounds of their cat­e­gories. This com­pe­ti­tion is held ev­ery Jan­uary and is a leg­endary event in taek­wondo cir­cles where the best com­peti­tors in Europe at­tend for an un­of­fi­cial Euro­pean Cham­pi­onships.
