HERNE BAY & WHIT­STABLE SUN­DAY LEAGUE: ROY­ALS STAKE THEIR PLACE IN FI­NAL

Tanker­ton Roy­als won through to the fi­nal of the Faver­sham Char­ity Cup, Se­nior Sec­tion af­ter an ex­tra-time win over fel­low Premier Divi­sion side Jadon Blues.

Roy­als won 5-2 with Nick Gar­diner and Nick Burns both scor­ing twice. Ali Brown claimed the other goal, with Rob Lawrence and Aaron Bowyer re­ply­ing for Blues.

Ted John­son hit four as Divi­sion 1 Chislet sent top flight Chartham tum­bling out in the sec­ond round of the same com­pe­ti­tion.

Chislet are un­beaten in the league and proved they would be a wor­thy ad­di­tion to the Premier Divi­sion next year if they were to win pro­mo­tion by win­ning 6-1. Luke Hedges and Barn­aby Loader were their other scor­ers.

The game of the day in the Ju­nior Sec­tion first round saw Herne Bay Ath­letic edge out Heron Ath­letic 7-6 in ex­tra time.

Wood­mans Hall swept past Can­ter­bury Toon 5-1 with goals from Jess Kirby (2), Jack Wat­son, Matty Hart and an own goal. Sam John­son scored Toon’s con­so­la­tion.

Faver­sham Strike Force beat North­gate Rangers 5-3, led by Ali Adam’s hat-trick. Adrian Jolly claimed the other two goals with North­gate re­ply­ing through Richard Cow­ell and Liam Love (2).

The tie be­tween the The Ele­phant and Oare went to a shoot-out, with the Ele­phant com­ing through 7-6. Ben Row­ley, Matt Kelk and Jack Jep­son scored for Oare as the game fin­ished 3-3 af­ter ex­tra-time.

One sec­ond round tie was played and pro­duced 14 goals with Lit­tle­bourne Re­serves beat­ing Whit­stable OB 8-6. Dan Sil­lito and Nathan Perry (2) both struck twice with one each for Rob­bie Loomer, Alex Cooper, Alex Huckle and Rickie Davies.

De­fend­ing cham­pi­ons Ris­ing Sun march on re­lent­lessly in the Premier Divi­sion, de­feat­ing Chil­ham 5-1 with goals from Stacy Davis, TJ Mon­cur, Michael Turner and Kenny San­ders (2). Andy Hay­ward replied for Chil­ham.

Wing­ham beat Wa­ter­front 4-1, while Mon­u­ment PFC beat Cru­saders 3-2 with Tom Wind­ing (2) and Bob Hitch­cock the men on tar­get. Chris Wool­cott, Zack Wak­erly replied for Cru­saders

Blean Sun­day se­cured a sur­prise 1-0 win over Mon­u­ment PFC in Divi­sion 1 and in Divi­sion 2, David Reed’s tre­ble helped Mon­u­ment A to an 8-3 vic­tory over Faver­sham United.

Olly Omer scored two with one each for Lawrence Brown, Ben Sargeant and Ritchie Mar­tin.

Jonny Wool­lard (2) and Ryan Sargeant were the Faver­sham scor­ers.

Bay United and City Lions drew 2-2, Ryan Lee and Joe Han­cock scored for United with City’s two com­ing from Grant Best and Wes­ley Miller.
