Gritters out
Gritter lorries are out on Kent’s roads this week as temperatures are forecast to plummet. Lows of 1C and -1C are predicted today (Thursday) and tomorrow respectively, prompting Kent County Council to issue red warnings on both days. The alert means temperatures are expected to fall below freezing and that ice, snow, hoar frost or freezing rain is likely. Gritters have been treating primary routes across the county. Saturday has an amber warning as temperatures are expected to fall to 0C.
