Nurses pull out the stops for couple
Nursing staff at the Kent and Canterbury Hospital went the extra mile to help an elderly couple spend Christmas morning together.
Mr and Mrs Beerstecher, pictured, were due to be apart for the holiday for the first time in 58 years as patients on different wards.
But nurses on King’s C1 and King’s D1 hatched a plan to make sure the pair were able to share a few festive hours in each other’s company.
Ward manager Selena Moore said that in an effort to provide person-centred care, staff moved the couple’s beds together so they could be next to each other.
