Should I get on the bus with green bin?

- Terry Hudson Russell Drive, Swalecliffe

I was shocked to read that there will be no green bin collection until March [‘Gardeners face trip to the dump after waste collections suspended’, Gazette, December 20].

My council-supplied collection chart clearly states that there will be a collection - why were we not informed of the change?

Could they not have arranged to have put some form of warning on the bins: say at the beginning of December?

So what do I do now with all of the waste at the start of the pruning season? Keep wobbling down to the dump on my bicycle with a couple of bags strapped to the handlebars?

Will the bus company allow me to take bags of rubbish on-board; I do not think so!

Surely this council does not want me to use my car and make another of what they like to call, an “unnecessary” journey?

How does this fit in with their cycling & walking policy, which they are trying to impose?
