Classic story told with a contemporary twist

-

The classic story of the Little Prince is being retold in a new adaptation which blends dance, humour and words.

Based on the world famous tale by Antoine de SaintExupéry, the character will be brought to life by Luca Silvestrini’s dance theatre group Protein at the Gulbenkian in February.

The story is retold in the live show by a pilot stranded in the desert.

Audiences will find out how the Little Prince leaves behind his own tiny asteroid and beloved rose and journeys through the universe, coming face-to-face with the baffling world of grown-ups.

Once on planet Earth, he is welcomed by a mysterious snake and a wise and friendly fox before encountering the lone pilot.

Together they discover the power and beauty of friendship and the complexity of love.

With an original score by Frank Moon, design by Yann Seabra and lighting by Jackie Shemesh, Protein’s new show invites audiences to look at the world through one’s heart and to reconnect with their inner child.

The Little Prince is at the Gulbenkian at 2.30pm on Saturday, February 16.

Tickets are £1 to £8 and age guidance is five and above. n For tickets visit thegulbenkian.co.uk/event/ the-little-prince.
