Two stars of I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here are heading to Canterbury for separate guest spots in the city.

King of the Jungle, football manager Harry Redknapp, and The Governess from The Chase, Anne Hegerty, will entertain audiences with their anecdotes.

First to appear will be Anne, who has been booked by Student Republic at The Venue on the University of Kent campus on Saturday, January 19.

Before her challenging jungle experience, in which Anne revealed she has Asperger’s syndrome, the general knowledge wizard found fame on the ITV quiz show, The Chase.

She has just finished playing a season in panto as Queen Rat at the Theatre Royal, Windsor,

Student Republic marketing manager George Bartlett says her name was one of the top voted by a panel of students because many are fans of the show.

“We weren’t sure if we could get her because she doesn’t usually do this sort of thing but we contacted her agent and she was up for it,” he said.

“She was just someone a little bit different from the usual celebrities and reality television stars and has quite a fanbase with students, who love The Chase and her wit.

“There will be a meet and greet and she will also chat and answer questions. But we are also hoping to set up some kind of Chase-type game for a bit of fun.”

The Venue is open to all students in Canterbury, and tickets, which cost £6, are only available on the door, but George believes the venue could sell out its maximum 1,200 capacity.

Harry, who won over viewers to claim the crown on the hit Australian jungle show, will be at the Marlowe Theatre in May.

He is a well known raconteur and found a new legion of fans on I’m a Celebrity with his storytelling and dry Cockney wit.

Many also warmed to him after he spoke candidly about his love for his wife Sandra.

The former footballer, who managed Portsmouth when they won the FA Cup in 2008 and more recently Birmingham, has announced two Kent dates.

An Evening with Harry Redknapp will be at the Marlowe on Sunday, May 5, and the Orchard Theatre in Dartford on Sunday, October 13.

For tickets, go to www.marlowetheatre.com or call 01227 787787, or visit www.orchardtheatre.co.uk for the Dartford show.
