New year bash

The East Kent Chi­nese Com­mu­nity Group will cel­e­brate the Year of the Pig Chi­nese New Year in Can­ter­bury next month with an ex­trav­a­ganza of food and per­for­mance. Mem­bers are host­ing the event, which is open to all, on Sun­day, Fe­bru­ary 17, in the main hall at Si­mon Lang­ton Gram­mar School for Boys, start­ing at mid­day. The en­ter­tain­ment in­cludes the fa­mous Lion Dance as well as colour­ful dances from the Yin Tao Danc­ing Group, Taichi/mar­tial arts dis­play, K-pop Dance Group from the Univer­sity of Kent and Chi­nese mu­sic and singing. Hot Chi­nese food will also be pro­vided. Tick­ets are lim­ited and avail­able in ad­vance. They cost £10 for adults and £5 for un­der 16s.
