Epic tale of Macbeth coming to the Marlowe
A new production of one of Shakespeare’s most famous tragedies is coming to Canterbury next month.
After a sold out run at the National Theatre, a daring adaptation of Macbeth set in a postapocalyptic world of anarchy and uncertainty can be seen at the Marlowe Theatre between Tuesday, February 12 and Saturday, February 16 as part of a UK and Irelandwide tour.
From the creators of War Horse and The Curious Incident Of the Dog In The Night-time, the epic tale takes place against the backdrop of a bloody civil war and tells the story of Macbeth’s descent into a tyrannical ruler after being led to the crown by dark forces.
The classic play - directed by National Theatre artistic director Rufus Norris of Cabaret and London Road fame and designed by Rae Smith who worked on War Horse and This House - chronicles the King’s fight for survival.
Tickets are available for between £11.25 and £42.75 at www.marlowetheatre. com.
