The Oyster IBC launched the new year with a narrow victory away to Essex County in a friendly. Rink honours were shared but the Oyster managed to sneak home, 123-119. The ladies resumed their Kent League campaign at home to Swale and although each team won three rinks, the Oyster triumphed 119-89 on aggregate to claim seven points. Jan Turner, Alison Mcdonald, Madelene Mcconomy and Yvonne Gambrill were in commanding form, handing their opponents a 40-7 defeat, while Ann Moon, Joy Burton, Chris Appleton and Janet Drewitt secured a 26-9 win. The men were in Kent League action against The Angel, Tonbridge, finishing on the wrong end of a 120-112 scoreline despite sharing rink honours.
