Hasler spearheads leaders’ goal blast Herne Bay HC

Luke Hasler’s four goals were the highlight as Kent Area Division 1 leaders Herne Bay thrashed Ashford 2nds.

Bay have a four-point lead at the top after Craig Dale added a brace and Simon NewmanColl­ins and Kristoff White also netted in an 8-3 win. David Jeays was player-of-the-match.

In Kent Area Division 2, Bay’s 2nds are six points clear in second spot after a 2-1 win at Gore Court 3rds.

James Stevenson scored both goals, with Kai Appleby named player-of-the-match.

Three players doubled up against Anchorians in a 7-0 win for the men’s 4ths.

Kenny Mcmahon, Neil Austin and player-of-the-match Adam Stevens all scored twice, with Matt Young also netting for the Kent Division 2 leaders.

The men’s 5ths claimed just their third league win of the season and are ninth in Kent Open Division 3. One goal was enough, Chris Meek the scorer, to defeat Old Williamson­ians 5ths.

Joe Hickey took the player-ofthe-match vote.

The ladies dropped down the Kent Division 1 standings to 10th after a 3-2 defeat at home to Burnt Ash 2nds.

Amy Mason and Rachel Gentry got the goals, while Mason shared the player-of-the-match honours with Amber Potter.

The ladies’ 2nds took on Kent Division 3 leaders Marden Russets but lost 2-0 , while the ladies’ 3rds had no luck in front of goal in their game at Burnt Ash.

The hosts were more clinical and ran out 4-0 winners. Jenny O’rourke was Bay’s player-ofthe-match.

The mixed Oddbods side lost 3-2 to Anchorians. Amy Mason and Will Thomas netted for Bay.
