FAVERSHAM STRIKE FORCE YOUTH: WICKS SCORES IN DREAM DEBUT AS LIGHTNING HIT MAGNIFICENT SEVEN

-

Strike Force under-13 Lightning worked hard to claim a well-deserved 7-2 victory over Margate. The goals came from Kez Foy (2), Archie Hutchinson, Thomas Emery, Ru Sladden, Braden Best and John Wicks – who scored on his first outing with the team. Player-of-the-match went to Max Miotke, who impressed everyone at right-back. Sturry Kings visited The Mount to face under-12 Lightning and the hosts recorded a thrilling 3-2 victory. Callum Martin put the Force ahead but they trailed in the second half before goals from Archie Ivens and Liam Jameson saw them home. Ethan Bramble was named best player. There was further success for the Force’s other under-12 side, who defeated Thanet Hawks 3-1 thanks to goals from player-of-the-match Zane Larrett, Harvae Griffin and Charlie Hudson, who struck with a 25-yard free-kick. Jake Crawley and Oliver White were the scorers for the under-11s against a strong Ramsgate side as Charlie Hope claimed the award for best player. It was an agonising match for the under-10 Thunder side, who battled bravely but narrowly failed to find the net against Galactico Tigers. Ollie Edwards was player-of-the-match. Under-9 Lightning made an impressive start to life in Group A of the East Kent Youth League against Sturry Kings. Elliott Swift bagged a brace while Charlie-jack Hodgson scored a fine volley. Player-of-thematch was Ollie Maguire. There were goals aplenty for under-9 Thunder against Thanet Colts. Samuel Lilley scored a brace, Sammy Laker buried a bullet header from a corner, Ethan Taylor rounded off a fine move and Colts scored an own goal. Oliver Bright was named best player on his team debut. Under-8 Lightning found the net at Betteshanger through Eli Monger (2), Roman Lee and Reggie Hughes, with Albert Biscoe the player-of-the-match. Player-of-the-match Dylan Mannall scored one and was denied a second when his free-kick hit the bar as under-8 Hurricanes played Herne Bay Wanderers at The Mount.
